If the drop rates are bad, I will head inside the instance. Comment by tangy clam meat is in " Thick-shelled clams " as well you can get them from many different mobs. I think this is incorrect, I've had NO drops of tangy clam meat off of them.
I think it may have been confused with giant clam meat. Comment by snowboyak08 THE best place to farm these is to kill the murlocs in Hillsbrad Foothills near Southshore, or go into Blackfathom Deeps and kill all the naga and murlocs in there for the thick-shelled clams, they drop these.
I seriously doubt the giant clams in STV and anywhere else that contains giant clams drop these. On one pass from Southshore towards the mine through Western Strand, I came out with 33 pieces, one lustrous pearl, five Enchant Gloves - Fishing formula, and four greens level 24 - One pass took about 20 minutes with my level 47 mage. Was able to skill up from Cooking to while I was typing this. Comment by Agreed on Torn Fin Murlocs.
Cant go wrong. Comment by Trinket90 Confirmed--Murloc run is fantastic. I went down and back in 25 minutes with my 80 paladin. I grabbed the murlocs in the water near the shore but didn't go far i hate swimming! The looting is freaking annoying but other than that you can't beat it! Comment by Does anybody know why these are worth so much?
I litterally sell each one for 2 gold on my server that seems like a lot for such an easy item to farm. Comment by I'm so glad that WoWHead was able to so quickly and efficiently fix the information that they pass on here to update what actually drops in the Giant Clams that they state drop Tangy Clam Meat, when in fact they drop, Giant Clam Meat.
Now I can go farming all over again for the correct mat to level my cooking with. Comment by Down in southsore , you may want to look around before looting the corpses cuz,its teeming with players of opposite facion doing exactly the same thing. Comment by Following the advice of many for Tangy Clam Meat, I went to Southshore in the Eastern Kingdoms in search of these tender little morsels.
I ran the beach from east to west once, killing Torn Fin Murlocs exclusively, and was rewarded with enough Tangy Clam Meat to take my cooking skill from - The bisque recipe was good enough to level my cooking to ! I didn't see a single horde while I was farming these items and it only took me about 15 minutes to do. So, so worth it! Thanks for the advice everyone Comment by Alemira Southshore is really good for this : I get clams when I do the full run! Comment by I am a lvl 78 Hunter. I ran all up and down Southshore and could not get the first drop.
I killed all the Murloc and Naga. Comment by Yep me too. I logged out here before the Cataclysm. Killed about 20 Naga's and not a single Clam.
However they do drop cloth and wool now which I never got before. Oh well moving on Comment by It seems it can only be found in the instance nowadays with Cataclysm comming out soon Nagas and Murlocs don't even tend to drop clamshells anymore :. Comment by Spiritseekr Ok so after killing some things on the Zoram Strand and not getting much of a result, I went into Blackfathom Deeps and wiped out all the scaley type creatures there.
Naga, crabs, and Murloc. The result after about 30 minutes was as follows: 6 Clam meat, 62 tangy clam meat, 2 turtle meat, 4 small lustrous pearl, 17 crawler claw, 17 crawler meat.
Recommendation: Go into BFD to get tangy clam meat amongst other types of useful things to cook. Comment by Mariabia Ok, I really do not get where to find them in Stranglethorn Vale, it's very confusing and time wasting So, I suggest no one goes there to look for Tangy Clam Meat!
Comment by Confirmed that BFD is the best place for farming tangy clam meat. Not inside the instance, just the tunnels outside the instance.
The nagas re-spawn pretty quickly. The mobs there used to be level 30 but they are now level 20ish.
