I've been making music for about maybe 10 years now, and I just started releasing it. So, it's exciting for me. Best, who dealt with multiple injuries during his NFL career, including several concussions, also touched upon his health with Baligian and Bell.
I felt fine as a person. I had no like lingering effects. But, at the same time, I had like literally brain damage in my head. I just basically made this decision. It wasn't safe for me to keep putting myself in harm's way, but physically I was fine," Best said.
Man, it took a while, because I was still fast. I was the strongest, in the best shape of my life. And I also felt like I was just getting healthy. I was struggling with turf toe my rookie season, and my second year, the turf toe was good.
So, I was feeling healthy. I felt like I was really getting my feet set, and then the concussions came along. But, you know, that's just how life goes, man. It's on to the remaining nine games of the season for the Detroit Lions and their coaching staff. Every week people get knocked out in the NFL. The NFL cannot do that.
They have hundreds of concussion lawsuits they have to fight. Raising the bar in favor of player safety is long over due. I feel bad for Best, but I would feel alot worse for him if he were to receive permanent brain damage from one concussion too many.
Life is very short, and at the end of the day Jhavid still has a very long life ahead of him. Fans hope he is happy and successful as a person, regardless of whether or not he ever plays football again. I remembering covering the Salesian-Ferndale High playoff football game up here in Humboldt County and getting to see Jahvid Best run in the mud and slop. He was a standout in high school for the Pride and knew he was going to be a big-time D-I prospect.
He moved on to Cal and took a scary hit as he dove into the end zone, went airborne, and landed on the back of his head-neck. From that point on, I knew the supremely talented athlete I saw in high school would have a relatively short football career if he go drafted. What is the decision based on? The NFL will gladly pay the lions to pay his salary as long as the NFL can use him as an example of them protecting players from concussions.
I would not be surprised to see his contract bought out and his playing days go bye bye. This guy had concussion problems in college too. He is not even needed by the team now. They have backs. Sorry to say that I called him Javid Bust when the Lions drafted him. The sports analyst said the guy was injury prone in college and the reason he was availble to the Lions as a late pick, other teams said no thanks to that problem.
He was an electric player that only comes along once in a while and our offense seems lost without him.. Hopefully after the Philly win we gain a little bit of momentum and finally just move on without Best until we hear otherwise!! Best is done. A year removed, yet other players Collie keep playing?
I knew they should have drafted LaMicheal James. This is an injury that is a year old, and its not like a knee or shoulder where you can see if there is something physically wrong. Feel bad for the guy but at this point I think the best thing is to hang it up.
You only 23 years old and you have your whole life ahead of you. One more hit might just be serious enough to really mess you up for life. Why do we protect grown men from themselves? It would be ridiculous if players won the concussion suit. Will that change in ? Can the presence of Tom Brady, a continued resurgence of Ronald Jones and the drafting of Ke'Shawn Vaughn add a rushing component long absent in Tampa?
However, he returned to lead them there. What becomes of the Pats knowing he won't return? Fresh off his breakout rookie campaign, Seahawks receiver D. Metcalf spoke to players about social media, finances and meeting etiquette in NFL's first rookie webinar.
Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins knows a thing or two about the franchise tag -- and how it sometimes can be used for a quarterback's benefit.
Could Dak Prescott learn from Cousins' past experience? Gardner Minshew has a new backup QB. The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to terms with veteran signal-caller Mike Glennon, the team announced.
